The Barney Bouclé Cover adds the ultimate luxury to your dog’s Barney Bed without compromising on comfort and orthopedic support.
Spun from a neutral cream yarn sourced from Denmark, bouclé is a heavy fabric made up of little loops which gives your Barney Bed a cloud-like appearance and beautiful, textured feel. Machine washable with luxe gold outer YKK zipper this cover is the perfect way to elevate your dog’s bed to fit the interiors of your home. The non-skid base is designed to keep your pup safe and crucial for dogs who suffer from joint pain.
About the Barney Covers
Is the cover waterproof?
No, our covers are not waterproof as we designed them to be as comfy and soft as possible and waterproof materials are not often comfy to the touch. We have, however, designed the covers to be super easy to remove and wash whenever needed. We created the Waterproof lining Kit which you can fit over the interior of your Barney Bed- just like your own mattress protector, which will fully protect your Barney Bed from water/pee accidents.
Are there any other colors?
The Barney Bed is sold in its original grey cover. We have a wide range of covers available in lots of different colors and materials. We often release new covers, so stay tuned on our website and socials!
I already have a bed. Do you sell just the covers?
Yes! Please choose the same size cover as your Original Barney Bed. Our covers are specifically designed to only fit the Barney Bed. You can check your bed size on the tag inside your cover or if you have any questions about the bed size you ordered, please send an email to hello@barneybed.com and we’ll be happy to look up your order.
I fit my zip cover on my bed, why doesn’t look fitted like the photos online?
This is because your original gray cover needs to be fully removed, and the memory foam inserts need to be inserted into your zip cover. Our zip covers (Bouclé Cover, Teddy Covers, Arthur-Itis Cover, Jet Black Covers) are a replacement for the original grey cover and are not intended to be fitted over the grey cover.

This is my boy’s second Barney Bed, we moved interstate and I couldn’t bring his bed so I bought another one. He sleeps so soundly throughout the night, every time I got up to check on him, he was out like a light.

I have 3 large dogs, an Irish Wolfhound, a Saint Bernard and a German Shepherd with 1 blue eye. They have beds in the lounge room and bedrooms. They still complain if they can’t get on the one they want to because one is already there all stretched out. So this is why I keep buying them. My Saint has bad hip dysplasia so needs a really comfortable bed and these are the best!
We love love love the Barney Bed! We now have two, the Barney Curl and the original Barney Bed. The quality is fantastic and the covers fit our space nicely. Finnegan says it’s the comfiest bed he has ever slept on!
I have one in each colour now as they are exceptional. It gives me great joy to watch my Chihuahua dry herself after a bath and to see her get so comfortable to have a great sleep each night. The perfect dog bed does exist!
Purchased the large Barney Bed for my 10-year-old girl, Cookie is a staffy x kelpie (22kg). The size guide recommended large, the medium would have been okay, but the large is good for her to stretch out in. The bed is excellent quality and worth the investment. I also have the Arthur-Itis cover and have fitted it to the bed, making it easy for her to get in and out of her bed.
My Golden never like to sleep on bed. this is the first time he will insist to sleep there every nite.

We’ve had our Barney bed for 2 years now and it shows no signs of needing replacement. We upgraded from the standard blue cover to this cover so it would blend with our house decor. Our dog loves it!

My dog loves the bed, particularly the towel cover! It supports him well - he has a heavy chest area and struggles to get comfortable in softer beds, and the cover keeps him cool. He gets a full stretch out and a few rolls in the bed. Happiest I have seen him in his bed for ages and we have been through a lot of very expensive beds.
