About the Barney Covers
Is the cover waterproof?
No, our covers are not waterproof as we designed them to be as comfy and soft as possible and waterproof materials are not often comfy to the touch. We have, however, designed the covers to be super easy to remove and wash whenever needed. We created the Waterproof lining Kit which you can fit over the interior of your Barney Bed- just like your own mattress protector, which will fully protect your Barney Bed from water/pee accidents.
Are there any other colors?
The Barney Bed is sold in its grey colourway cover and the Barney Signature Bed and BarneyCurl Beds are sold in the Bone colourway cover. All additional covers are sold separately.
I already have a bed. Do you sell just the covers?
Yes! Please choose the same size cover as your Original Barney Bed. Our covers are specifically designed to only fit the Barney Bed. You can check your bed size on the tag inside your cover or if you have any questions about the bed size you ordered, please send an email to online@barneybed.com and we’ll be happy to look up your order.
I fit my zip cover on my bed, why doesn’t look fitted like the photos online?
This is because your original cover needs to be fully removed, and the memory foam inserts need to be inserted into your zip cover. Our zip covers (Bouclé Cover, Teddy Covers, Arthur-Itis Cover, Jet Black Covers) are a replacement for the original cover and are not intended to be fitted over the cover.

Loved the cover at first, but by day two the material was piling. It is cooling which is nice for my Pyrenees/retriever mix, but the material quality is not as good as the cooling covers from Pelsbarn.
Hi Brooke, thanks so much for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that our Cooling Cover wasn’t as expected. Our cooling fabric is made with nano threads, which is what gives it that cooling feel, but it can pill when friction is applied. This is a known property of the fabric rather than a defect, and we do include this disclaimer on our product page. Any pilling can be easily removed with scissors or a lint shaver. While the cover is strong, we recommend it for light scratching and nesting only, as it’s not designed for dogs that scratch their beds. We love everything Barney Bed. We have beds and multiple covers for each. Cooling bed cover is lovely on these hot days. Quality as always, customer service excellent. If you don’t want to be rebuying pet beds, trust Barney Bed.

Although this material is cool to the touch, it snags easily just from a chew bone. My dogs play with bones all the time and now the cover is covered in snags. Not great quality for the price. You must let everyone know that nochewa toys can go on this cover. I’m very disappointed as this is my third cover. The first one was the basic cover andafter My two dogs wrestled on it the material started to get snags on it. Very poor quality.

We’ve also emailed you with more information - the Cooling Cover is made with Nano threads, which give it that cool-to-the-touch feel but can be prone to pilling or snagging. This is completely normal for the fabric and not a defect. A quick trim or use of a lint shaver will have it looking brand new again!
