About the Barney Covers
Is the cover waterproof?
No, our covers are not waterproof as we designed them to be as comfy and soft as possible and waterproof materials are not often comfy to the touch. We have, however, designed the covers to be super easy to remove and wash whenever needed. We created the Waterproof lining Kit which you can fit over the interior of your Barney Bed- just like your own mattress protector, which will fully protect your Barney Bed from water/pee accidents.
Are there any other colors?
The Barney Bed is sold in its original grey cover. We have a wide range of covers available in lots of different colors and materials. We often release new covers, so stay tuned on our website and socials!
I already have a bed. Do you sell just the covers?
Yes! Please choose the same size cover as your Original Barney Bed. Our covers are specifically designed to only fit the Barney Bed. You can check your bed size on the tag inside your cover or if you have any questions about the bed size you ordered, please send an email to online@barneybed.com and we’ll be happy to look up your order.
I fit my zip cover on my bed, why doesn’t look fitted like the photos online?
This is because your original grey cover needs to be fully removed, and the memory foam inserts need to be inserted into your zip cover. Our zip covers (Bouclé Cover, Teddy Covers, Arthur-Itis Cover, Jet Black Covers) are a replacement for the original grey cover and are not intended to be fitted over the grey cover.

Both myself and Brody(Boxer) love the bed and the cooling cover. The cover works great and Brody loves his new bed. The cover is easily removable for cleaning, but stays on the bed with no issues. The cooling cover fits over the original cover, so it doesn’t sit as neat and firm as original cover, but it works. Hard to tell it is actually cooler, but dig seems comfy.

I don't love this cover at all, for the first few seconds this cover is cool but it does not allow for it to stay that way or to wick the warmth away. There has been a lot of pilling of this cover and I would not recommend this as part of the purchase.
Thank you for your feedback! It’s actually completely normal for the Cooling Covers to pill, and we’ve included a disclaimer about this on our website. The fabric is made with Nano threads, which provide its cooling properties, but they can be prone to pilling.
This isn’t a defect but rather a characteristic of the fabric. You can easily remove the pilling by trimming the threads with scissors or using a lint shaver. We use a cooling cover in our office and regularly use a lint shaver (we got ours from Amazon), and it works wonders—making the cover look brand new!

Love the fit and ease of putting the cover on and washing it, however have since found out my beagle loves to burrow into the fabric and has roughed up the stitching.. feels cool to touch but thinking a softer touch is what my beagle needs even in tropical QLD..
