Shipping

Shipping is free within Australia for orders over $250.* Orders under $250 will incur a shipping fee of $12.95. *XL and XXL beds are considered oversized items and will be shipped via courier. Shipping fees will apply, and they will calculate at checkout based on your location. We also offer low-rate international shipping, but please allow extra time for customs clearance. International shipping fees will calculate at checkout based on your location. Duties and taxes may apply upon arrival and are not covered by Barney Bed.

All in-stock items are typically dispatched within 2 business days outside of sale periods and usually arrive within 2–8 business days depending on your location.

Please note: During sale periods, dispatch times may be delayed by up to 10 business days due to high order volumes. We appreciate your patience as our team works hard to get your order out as quickly as possible.

Warranty

We offer a 12-month warranty on blankets against manufacturing defects only. This warranty applies to defects due to faulty workmanship or materials. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damages due to rough dog use, which includes but is not limited to; excessive scratching, biting, chewing, digging. Returns & Exchanges

Returns must be requested within 14 days of the delivery date. The blanket must be unused, free from dog hair and in brand-new condition to be eligible for a refund or exchange.

Moss Large Blanket

I recently bought the above blanket from Barney Bed. Like the rest of Barney Bed products, I expected it to be of great quality. But it didn’t take long for my dog to start getting static electricity shocks from the blanket. So much so that he yelped with pain a couple of times. Last night I took the blanket off him as I could hear him getting Zapped. As I grabbed the blanket I got zapped too and while I was still holding the blanket I touched my dog and the electricity went from the blanket, through me and into my dog giving him another shock. I have looked on the Barney Bed site where it is acknowledged that static electricity can occur. A number of ‘solutions’ are mentioned including running a humidifier in the same room to increase the moisture in the air and also using anti static washing detergent among other things. My question is, why can’t Barney Bed just make a blanket out of natural fibres that doesn’t have static electricity issues? I paid $115 for the blanket and I think for that price it should be good quality. I should not have to invest more money on humidifiers or special detergent or whatever to solve the problem - the product should just work. If there is an issue it should be resolved before selling it to the public. Love the bed but I hate that blanket and now we don’t use it anymore.

Static electricity can occur when there is friction between fabrics, which causes a small electrical charge to build up. This is more common with soft synthetic materials (like fleece-style fabrics) and can be more noticeable in dry environments, especially during colder months when indoor air tends to have less moisture.

A few things that can help reduce static include:

Increasing humidity in the room with a humidifier, as moisture in the air helps prevent static buildup.
Using an anti-static laundry product or fabric softener when washing the blanket.
Avoiding over-drying the blanket in the dryer, as heat and very dry fabrics can increase static.
Adding a dryer sheet or wool dryer balls during drying can also help reduce static.
Lightly misting the blanket with water (not soaking it) can help release built-up static if needed.
