Find Their Perfect Fit

To find the right size, measure your dog from the tip of their nose to the base of their tail and compare their length with our Size Guide. The Barney Bed and BarneyCurl follow the same size recommendations for Small, Medium and Large.

Breed recommendations are a helpful starting point, but every dog is different. If your dog falls between two sizes, consider their measurements, preferred sleeping position and the space available in your home.

Questions

What dog owners ask us most. There are more answers in our FAQs.

Choosing a bed

Is an orthopaedic bed only for senior dogs?

No, an orthopaedic memory foam bed is great for dogs of all ages. For a senior dog, the Barney Bed gives comfort and support getting in and out of bed.

What size should I get?

Measure your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail: that is the length the bed needs for your dog to stretch out. Then choose the size for that length on this page or in our Size Guide.

If you are unsure once the bed arrives, don’t open its vacuum seal: request an exchange through Barney Care at care.barneygroup.co or email us at online@barneybed.com, and we can arrange it.

Care and delivery

Are the beds waterproof?

The Signature Bed and the BarneyCurl both come with a waterproof lining kit included, which protects the memory foam from spills and accidents. The original grey Barney Bed has a water-resistant lining, and the Waterproof Lining Kit is sold separately. The covers are not waterproof: we made them soft and easy to wash instead.

How do I wash the bed?

Unzip the cover and machine wash it on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, then hang it inside out to dry in the shade. Never wash the memory foam: wipe its lining with a damp cloth and mild detergent instead. Our Care & Washing page has a video.

Why does my new bed arrive flat?

It is vacuum sealed for delivery. Your dog can use it straight away, and it rises to its full shape in about 7 days for the Barney Bed and 10 days for the BarneyCurl.
